                            This three-story, twelve-unit apartment building was added to the inventory of the Soft Weak or Open Front Story Buildings in accordance with the City of Berkeley ordinance BMC19.39. During our investigation we discovered an existing steel moment frame at the rear of the building. The presence of the frame meant that the building was incorrectly classified as a soft story building. After the preparation of the Seismic evaluation report, it was shown that the subject building was not a soft story building and was removed from the list of Soft Story Buildings without any construction.
